What is Functional Fitness Works?


Functional Fitness Works is a combination of varied modalities including, but no limited to, barbell, kettlebell, and body weight movements such as pull-ups, handstand walks, handstand push-ups, etc...that are incorporated with, running, rowing, assault bike and ski erg work at various intensity levels.

FFW’s goal is to offer a safe and positive training environment, no matter the goal.  Since opening in May of 2013 we have strived to provide a community for like-minded athletes of any age or fitness level to grow into a healthier, fitter and more confident version of themselves.   With the help of our quality trainers and amazing community, we make fitness fun.  Make this your mindset, progress not perfection and there is no better time to start than NOW.

Cardiovascular/respiratory endurance: The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.


Stamina: The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.


Strength: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.


Flexibility: the ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint


Power: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.


Speed: The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.


Coordination: The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.


Agility: The ability to minimize transition time from one movement pattern to another.


Balance: The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.


Accuracy: The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.
